Another Step Closer to Sustainable Society

 The Ilocos Sur National High School recently celebrated the World Home Economics Day with the theme "Tackling Consumption for a Better World." Focusing on the power of mindful choices in creating a sustainable society. This is when students, teachers, and other school employees to talk about how mindful choices affect our environment and what are the things that we could consider for a sustainable society.

This event reminds us that small steps—such as recycling plastics, reusing, saving energy, and making eco-friendly choices—can lead to a big impact. By spreading awareness through our ability and taking action, the Ilocos Sur National High School continues to build new ways to a sustainable society.

     What a day to remember!! The 123rd High School Foundation Day of Ilocos Sur National High School was vibrant and unforgettable moment. The campus was full of students who screamed their heart out in cheering, teachers carrying their smiles and the other school stuff to gather for them to celebrate this meaningful moment.

This yearly celebration reminds us of the Ilocos Sur National High School's history of hardships, learning, and unity. It's not just an ordinary day to celebrate—it is another way of thanking every single individual in the campus of being the reason the why our school looks the way it does today. Involving different generations of students builds a new connection wherein they can build and think of ideas on what they can do for the betterment of the school. This is a day of reflecting on what the school has gone through for the past century, through this event, every one of us will stand together as we appreciate the journey of our school.

A Journey of Hardships Before Taking the Next Step

4th quarter is the last one before having the next step, and yet it taught me a lot of lessons that I could take for my next adventure; not as a junior high student but a senior high student in the STEM strand. 

There are various lessons that I learned for this quarter such as the FrontPage, LAN Cable and the different types of Networks. These two lessons that I learned were fun and taught me a great deal. First, the FrontPage, I learned that it is easier than HTML coding and it comes with a tagline "WYSIWYG," or also known as "WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET." This works as the Microsoft Word, and another thing about the Microsoft FrontPage is that it introduced me to web designs and how to make it easily, giving me a strong foundation for creating and managing web pages. Second, the different types of Networks: LAN, MAN, WAN, PAN, and CAN; this lesson expanded my knowledge of how a data was sent and received across different areas. Lastly, the LAN Cables; this taught me the importance in establishing stable and efficient network connections between different clients.  

Despite these valuable lessons, I encountered some struggles. Designing web pages using Microsoft FrontPage was hard as I couldn't put the shapes and the text where I wanted them. I couldn't achieve what I wanted to achieve. It was also hard because the coding for it was not the same as the one that I used in our previous lesson, particularly in HTML coding.

To overcome these challenges, I explored how the different functions of the elements that I could find in the Microsoft FrontPage. I watched YouTube tutorials and experimented with the different layouts to improve my skills in web design. My friends were also there to help me any time I needed some help, they are willing to help me every time I struggle with our lessons.

Moving on, I plan to deepen my understanding of Microsoft FrontPage by exploring more about it. My goal is to practice my skills with different web design software and continue expanding my skills. With this determination, I'm excited about what lies ahead for me.

Lighthouse of the Dark and Dangerous Sea of Adventures

        Fifteen years is a lot of time for change and a time filled with untold possibilities. When someone asks, "How do you see yourself 15 years from now?", the question itself feels like a big hole ready to swallow me; as it is something that I'm not certain with. The future holds a lot of events that I could learn lessons from – experience that will become my instruments as I explore this life. 

        My vision for my future is still blurry images; I still can't clearly see the details of what lies ahead of me. For the present, I see myself as someone who has faced challenges, learned from failures, and grown in many ways. 

        Fifteen years from now, I hope to be dedicated to a career that is aligned with my passion and with my intelligence. I envision myself as someone leading and mentoring others with my skills. While the industry I want to be in remains uncertain; constantly finding what my heart wants. However, beyond the professional industry, personal growth is important. I see myself as a mature individual having adventures, exploring, and still learning about what life is. Learning is something that is a never-ending journey you'll do in your lifetime. Filling your mind with knowledge through life lessons and exploration will guide you to the right path. Wherein you can enjoy what the world can offer you regardless of how big or small it is. Enriching my perspective and deepening my understanding of the world.

        Life is full of surprises, both failure and success. The future holds uncertain possibilities with unexpected plot twists that often result in learning and growth. The journey along with the lessons, not just the destination, is what really matters. A journey where failures can't be avoided, endless possibilities await, and lessons act like a lighthouse guiding you through the dark and dangerous sea of adventures. And I'm excited to see where this journey takes me.

Breaking the Walls: A New Path to Equal World

            Every March, we celebrate Women's Month, a time to appreciate and acknowledge the struggles and successes of women worldwide. The theme this year is "WE for Gender Equality and an Inclusive Society," which emphasizes our shared responsibilities in promoting fairness and equality. We aim to create a world where every individual, regardless of gender, has equal opportunities, respect, and fair treatment. "WE" in the theme represents the collaboration of every individual in achieving gender equality.

            Gender equality is not just about a women's issue rather it affects every individual in this world. An inclusive society ensures that all individuals, regardless of gender identity, can move freely without fear of discrimination. Furthermore, it ensures that everyone is welcome and has equal opportunities regardless of gender, background, and status. When we support women and marginalized groups, we can create a world where every one of us is treated right and can succeed without fear of discrimination. Also, by doing this, we can build a strong community for future generations.

            To achieve gender equality, we must break the unfair treatment; promote fair policies, and support education and programs that empower all genders. Awareness and education play a big role in a fair society; teaching respect and equal rights to every individual helps future generations to grow with knowledge and the right mindset. A truly inclusive society means giving each individual to share their insights and have the right to use their voice as a way to a better and brighter future. WE share responsibilities and WE can create a world that is fair and inclusive for all.
